Dear Citizens of Wayne County:
I am officially announcing my candidacy to become the Republican nominee for Wayne County Sheriff in the general election to be held in November 2009. With over 31 years of knowledge and experience in the Sheriff’s Department, I have built my career on the pillars of professionalism, service and community outreach. I now am actively asking for the support of community leaders, friends, colleagues and citizens to support my candidacy and join my team until we arrive to victory in November 2009.
To help spread my message, I am honored to announce the Chair of my Campaign, Lucinda Collier, Supervisor of the Town of Rose and honorary Co-Chair, Sheriff Richard Pisciotti. Both are strong leaders who possess tremendous insight of county government and the needs of Wayne County citizens. I promise to work tirelessly on behalf of all Wayne County residents to continue to provide the most professional, progressive, efficient and effective public safety department in our area and New York State. This can be achieved with my leadership and the continued dedication and hard-work of our staff of Correction Officers, Deputy Sheriffs, Criminal Investigators, Administrative Officers, Civilians and Volunteers.
My strong record of collaborating, cooperating, coordinating and partnering with numerous agencies, both public and private, is one of my most proud accomplishments allowing me the experience of serving the community on many not-for-profit agencies and Community Boards of Wayne County which include: Pre-Trial Services, Inc., Council on Alcoholism, Criminal Justice Council, Jail Advisory Board, Housing Consortium, Diversity Taskforce, liaison to the Behavioral Health Community Service Board and as a Commissioner of the Rose Fire District. My past memberships have included the Wayne County Victims’ Resource Center and Wayne County Cause, Origin and Fire Investigation Team. These experiences have fostered many invaluable community relationships and my greater understanding of the interests and needs of Wayne County residents.
My educational background includes an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science in Criminal Justice and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Liberal Arts, awarded by Erie Community and Excelsior Colleges, respectively. Building upon my education, my career in the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department has prepared me with a thorough knowledge of the department and the development of essential leadership skills, enhanced by my life-long County residency. Furthermore, my children and grandchildren’s future are also reasons for my personal investment in Wayne County’s future. With capability, commitment and enthusiasm, I am ready to serve the residents of Wayne County as their Sheriff.
I respectfully ask for your support to become your candidate for Wayne County Sheriff in the November 2009 election. I look forward to reaching out, discussing my qualifications, listening to your concerns and sharing my thoughts for the future of Wayne County.
I invite you, friends, family and colleagues to discuss with me the future of our County, public safety and my candidacy to become your next Wayne County Sheriff.
